Youth in Revolt
So this little number was put up on our request area. You know that spot where you can tell us about a movie you want us to see, and write up. Here is the kicker, a fan and reader of the site put in the request, and with out even knowing it the next day Brad one of our editors dropped it on my desk, “dude you have to see this!” So I did, and thank you both!!

I wonder if the actors kept these look a likes...???
Hard to discribe this movie really. Its a coming of age movie, short on coming. It will make sense after you see it, trust me. Michael Cera plays a boy who is a bit, well, lets just say he isn’t the most popular kid in town. His name is Nick Twisp. He lives with his mom and her crazy boyfriend. (and seriously is that guy ever going to shave off his beard) they go on a impromptu vacation to the wonderland of R.V.’s where he meets Sheeni Saunders the girl who steals his heart. Sheeni is the daughter of some over the top religious folk who keep a pretty tight leash on her. They kick around for a week or so before Nick’s summer fling is cut short and he is whisked back home. Exit bearded boyfriend and enter crazy cop guy played by one of my favorites Ray Liotta. This is where it all starts to get interesting.

Nick's dream come true.....
Nick loves Sheeni, but Sheeni is into tough bad boys. She suggests that if they are to be together he must “be bad” so he will get kicked out and have to live with his dad (I never get tired of seeing Steve Buscemi act in anything). The only way that super straight, uptight, follow the rules Nick is to “be bad” is to create a persona that he can live in, to do what he would never be comfortable doing as Nick.

Michael... who is Michael... I'm not FN Michael
Enter Francois Dillinger, the suave, mustash wearing, cigerette smoking alter ego. The complete oppisite of Nick. This is where it clicks… Wait this is Nick’s, Jack! Francois leads Nick down the bad boy path blowing up the city and causing enough madness that his mother kicks him out, to go live with his father, this isn’t the end of the story by any means. I don’t want to spoil the adventure that these two… or rather one…. have, it has to be seen to believed.

this scene cracks me up... "have fun"
If you haven’t had the chance to see this movie, I highly reccomend it. It was a great watch. Funny, and deep at the same time. Now its true that Micheal Cera isn’t for everyone, this is one time where I felt that even though half of him was the same charachter we always see, the Francois side of him was just out in out perfect. Good job. Also apearing in the movie is Justin Long and he stepped out of his normal role as well, and he cracked me up… Funny stuff!! Sheeni’s character we have all met in our youth and if your a boy, you fell in love with her frankness and honesty and the chance that this sexy girl may actually like you. But as you grow up and look back you see that she is just going to cause you trouble. Maybe its cause I dated a Sheeni in my youth, and I now realized I revolted for her to. That just made the movie that much more enjoyable for me.
