‘Tis the Season, and WOW DO I FEEL OLD. Mainly because this little known gem is 20 years old! Yet it is still required viewing in our house as Christmas Day approaches.
I say little known because I don’t know anyone besides my family who know about this Holiday Special. Maybe it’s universally loved and praised, and I think that would be great! Alas, I only have my small space on the planet, so I say little known gem.
Opus wants to fly, and Santa is his last hope. Bill the Cat is coughing up furballs, and the ducks are mean to Opus! There’s also a cross dressing cockroach and talk of an Albatross. WHAT IS THIS GUY TALKING ABOUT?! Christmas, of course! Bloom County style! Bloom County was the comic strip the characters were from, and they were never in better form than this animated Christmas Special.
I’m not going too much into this wonderful tale of oddball characters and quirky situations, because some nice person has posted it on youtube! Even if you have never read a single Bloom County, this animated tale will endear itself to you as it entertains. HAPPY VIEWING!
