Up for grabs tomorrow from all your favorite retailers is the Halloween III: Season of the Witch (collectors edition Blu-ray). Now I will admit that I have not seen this movie for over 10 years and with my family and I heading the the Happiest Place on Earth in the next couple days, I will have to resort to ordering it and then giving it a go when I get home. But then why put up this post…. BECAUSE! You should go and get it, watch it and be ready to tell me what you thought of it. Admit it, you haven’t seen it in over 10 years either. Its OK cause we all were just waiting for Blu-ray to be invented and this collectors edition to come out.
The film looks to be chalked full of extras including an appearance by the one and only Darkchylde creator Randy Queen. Carpenter and Queen have been plotting to bring Darkchylde to the big screen and we all are waiting patiently for the master of Horror and the Master of the Darkchylde herself to Master the big screen and give us all a great original flick. But in the mean time maybe we all should be catching up on John Carpenter’s old goodies like Halloween III and The Thing, Escape from LA/New York, and remember what it felt like to get pulled through a movie holding the hand of the Master of Horror, John Carpenter. Thank you Sir, for all your contributions to the dark side of my brain, to the waking up in a cold sweat and throwing the lights on as fast as I could, and to enjoying the feeling of anticipation and stress of a really good movie. You are a true master!
What’s your favorite John Carpenter movie. Mine is the Thing~! man what a great flick……
