The Ugly Truth
What a hilarious movie! It was a great movie and after I watched it I was bummed I had waited this long to see it. Great movie for guys and girls. It is The Ugly Truth. A romantic comedy with an extra dash of man humor in there. But be warned boys and girls there is a lot of truth in this movie, truth we all know but are afraid to say……
“Why do you love me?”
“I have no freaking idea, but I do!”
My favorite line from the whole movie happens right at the end in the hot air balloon after Abby (Katherine Heigl) and Mike (Gerard Butler) get into their last scuffle before the cave into each other.

Mars vs Venus
It’s always fun to watch a movie where you know what will happen in the end, meaning you knew when you started the movie that the two main characters would “fall in love” but it was the ride that made it so fun. That happens so little for me nowadays with romantic comedies, that’s what made this one such a pleasure.
Abby Richter is a producer for a network TV show with her ratings and her love life falling in the dumps. She is your basic woman (don’t take offense now), she is a little controlling, she is a little whinny, and thinks she understands men.
Mike Chadway speaks whatever is on his mind; he is found by Abby on his cable access TV show The Ugly Truth, talking very confidently about how women perceive men incorrectly. “Men are simple, that’s it!” he says, he then goes on the air with Abby as she gets upset about the garbage he is spewing and they hash it out over the phone while on the air. He gives her a rash of womanizing opinions most of which are poking fun at women’s points of view. It’s a pretty funny scene really.
But the problem gets worse. Abby’s director of her network hires Mike and The Ugly Truth to do a short spot everyday on her show. Very much against this idea Abby goes at him like a momma bear protecting her cubs. Laying into him every chance she gets, problem is that he doesn’t really care. As ratings continue to climb Abby is forced to work more closely with Mike.

See, if you can make a girl laugh, you can have two!
Along the ride are some very funny scenes, I don’t want to get into them here in case you haven’t seen it yet. Things we always think about but are never conversed. Things like men are attracted to a woman physically first, Duh right? I mean how true that is. Don’t lie to yourself, or how a new pair of underwear can really change your perspective. But in the end Mike’s bark is not as big as his bite as they both find out that everything they are looking for is in each other, like I said the ending was inevitable it was the ride that gets it there that made the movie so great.
I’m sure I’ll end up watching this movie a few more times, it was just to funny not to. But enough of what I thought, if you saw it what did you think, go ahead…. I’m listening.
